Working in Philippines

The Philippines is an archipelago with strong hospitality employment opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other resort destinations. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, engineering departments and tourism businesses regularly recruit skilled workers, although competition is higher in major cities and popular islands. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented and community minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities; costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, but rent can be high in Manila and resort centers. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, while Filipino applicants need standard employment documents. Relocating staff should confirm accommodation, transport, healthcare, taxes and contract benefits before accepting an offer. Weather includes a dry season and a rainy or typhoon season.
