Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, catering, clubs, and large-scale events, making it an attractive destination for experienced chefs. The culture combines Chinese traditions with international influences, while the lifestyle is energetic, convenient, and highly urban. Excellent public transport connects the city, and nearby beaches, hiking trails, and islands provide a welcome escape from the busy districts. Housing can be expensive, particularly near Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and major business areas, so many employees live in Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign professionals generally require an employment visa sponsored by their employer, commonly under the General Employment Policy. Applicants need a confirmed job offer, relevant qualifications or experience, and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Employers often assist with visa processing and relocation guidance.
