The Manager, Corporate and Marketing Communications will plan and deliver communications that strengthen Shangri-La’s corporate reputation and support its marketing objectives in Hong Kong. Requirements typically include a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field, together with several years of relevant experience, preferably in hospitality or a multinational organisation. The candidate is expected to develop press materials, manage media relationships, coordinate campaigns, prepare executive communications, monitor coverage, and work effectively with regional and property teams. Strong writing, editing, presentation, project management, stakeholder engagement, and crisis-communication skills are essential. Fluency in English and Cantonese or Mandarin is advantageous.
Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La, and Traders brands. The group is known for personalised service, Asian-inspired hospitality, and distinctive properties in major cities and resort destinations. Shangri-La hotels employ colleagues across guest services, food and beverage, sales, marketing, finance, engineering, wellness, and corporate functions. The Hong Kong corporate office supports brand strategy, communications, operations, and business development across the group. Working there can offer exposure to a large international hospitality network, regional projects, luxury-brand communications, and collaboration with teams from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, aviation, tourism, communications, and professional services. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, offering excellent food, festivals, arts, shopping, and a fast-paced business environment. Lifestyle choices range from dense urban neighbourhoods and vibrant nightlife to beaches, hiking trails, outlying islands, and quieter New Territories communities. Overseas professionals normally need an employment visa sponsored by their Hong Kong employer; applications generally require a confirmed job, suitable qualifications or experience, and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Dependants may usually accompany approved visa holders, subject to immigration rules. Relocation costs can be significant, especially rent, deposits, healthcare, and schooling. Public transport is efficient, and English is widely used in business, while Cantonese is valuable for daily life and local communication.
