The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the department with daily administration, staff scheduling, room-status updates, supplies coordination, record keeping and communication with other hotel departments. Candidates should typically have good English communication, computer and organizational skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of hotel housekeeping operations. Previous hospitality or administrative experience is advantageous, although the Emiratisation Program may be designed to develop UAE national talent. The successful candidate is expected to be reliable, presentable, service-focused and able to manage several tasks in a busy hotel environment. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, together with a positive attitude and respect for Shangri-La service standards, is likely to be required.
Shangri-La is an international luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and known for its Asian-inspired approach to warm, personal service. The group operates luxury hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. Shangri-La properties typically offer accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities, events and business services, with a strong focus on guest experience and cultural hospitality. In the United Arab Emirates, the company operates high-end properties serving leisure travellers, business guests and local residents. Employees are generally expected to demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, discretion and genuine care for guests. Shangri-La also invests in training and career development, and initiatives such as Emiratisation support the participation and progression of UAE nationals within the hospitality sector.
The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than an island, combining modern cities, desert landscapes and coastal resorts. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, food and beverage, healthcare and technology offer strong employment opportunities. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are important, particularly during Ramadan. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to quieter coastal communities. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored residence visa, work permit and medical assessment; UAE nationals may benefit from Emiratisation programs. Employers often provide accommodation or an allowance, transport, insurance and annual leave, but packages vary. Candidates should confirm contract terms, working hours and benefits before relocating.
