The role requires good English communication, attention to detail, reliability and the ability to coordinate several tasks under pressure. As an Emirati National position, UAE citizenship and eligibility for national employment programmes are expected.
Shangri-La is an international luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other major destinations. The group is known for personalised service, elegant properties and its Asian-inspired approach to hospitality. Shangri-La hotels typically offer accommodation, dining, wellness, events and business facilities, supported by sizeable engineering, housekeeping, food and beverage and guest-services teams. In the United Arab Emirates, the company operates prominent luxury properties and provides opportunities across hotel operations and corporate support functions. Employees are generally expected to maintain high service standards, professional presentation, teamwork and respect for multicultural guests and colleagues. The organisation also places emphasis on training, career development, safety, sustainability and delivering a consistent guest experience.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island destination but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, with coastal resorts and several small islands. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, facilities management, construction, healthcare and technology provide strong employment opportunities. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international workforce; modest dress and respectful behaviour are appreciated. Lifestyle varies from busy city living and shopping to desert activities, beaches and outdoor excursions. UAE nationals usually do not require an employment visa, while expatriates need employer sponsorship, medical checks and Emirates ID processing. For relocation, candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, health insurance and contract benefits, as living costs can be high, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned transport are central to daily life.
