About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality company operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Founded in 1971, the group is recognised for its warm Asian hospitality, personalised service and premium guest experiences. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands. Shangri-La Hong Kong is a high-end urban hotel in Admiralty, known for refined accommodation, restaurants, business facilities, wellness services and extensive event spaces. The company places strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, cultural awareness, teamwork and employee development. Staff work in a multicultural environment and are expected to deliver polished, attentive service while respecting the organisation’s values of hospitality, integrity and continuous improvement.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, aviation, retail, finance, technology, education and professional services. The city combines Chinese traditions with international influences, reflected in its festivals, Cantonese cuisine, temples, neighbourhood markets and global business culture. Lifestyle is fast-paced and convenient, with excellent public transport, extensive shopping, vibrant nightlife, hiking trails and beaches. Housing is expensive, although employer accommodation or allowances may be available for some hospitality positions. Foreign professionals normally require an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong company, and the employer generally demonstrates that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Candidates should secure a written offer before relocating and confirm visa, medical, insurance and accommodation arrangements. Hong Kong is geographically diverse rather than a single island destination, with Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories offering different living environments.
