Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, property management, engineering, finance, technology, retail and professional services. Hotel engineering roles are concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and major resort areas, with openings at luxury hotels, serviced residences and commercial buildings. The culture is international, fast-paced and respectful of efficiency, while Cantonese is widely spoken and English is common in professional workplaces. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighbourhoods and excellent public transport to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, so many employees share accommodation or live farther from the workplace. Foreign workers generally need an employment visa sponsored by an eligible employer before starting work; the employer normally supports the application. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, identification, banking and medical coverage, and check current Immigration Department requirements.
