About the employer

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised for its Asian-inspired service, elegant hotels and resorts, and strong emphasis on genuine care for guests. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations under the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands. Its Hong Kong hotels serve business and leisure travellers and offer accommodation, restaurants, events, wellness facilities and extensive guest services. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with structured operating standards, training opportunities and opportunities for career development within the wider group. The company places importance on gracious hospitality, teamwork, professionalism and creating memorable guest experiences.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic destination combining a major international business centre with beaches, hiking trails, islands and traditional neighbourhoods. Hospitality jobs are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, events, tourism, retail and cruise-related services, with stronger opportunities for candidates who speak English, Cantonese or Mandarin. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; respect, punctuality and efficient service are highly valued. Life is convenient but fast-paced, and housing can be expensive, especially near central districts. International employees generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer before starting work; the employer normally handles the application and provides a valid contract. New arrivals should budget for accommodation deposits, transport and healthcare, and confirm visa, tax and employment conditions with the company and Hong Kong Immigration Department.
