Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hotel jobs are available across front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, security and management, although employers usually prefer candidates with relevant experience and recognised qualifications. The culture is multicultural, orderly and service-focused, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Public transport is efficient, safe and extensive, but accommodation and daily living costs can be high. Singapore has a tropical climate, excellent healthcare, diverse food and easy regional travel. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass: eligible professional roles may use an Employment Pass or S Pass, while other service positions may require a Work Permit subject to sector rules and quotas. Secure an offer and approved pass before relocating.
