About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its properties are known for attentive service, refined accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and business or leisure amenities. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates well-established city and resort properties and is recognized as a prominent employer in the hospitality sector. The company generally places strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, operational standards, teamwork, employee development and responsible business practices. Engineering employees support the safe, efficient and comfortable operation of the property, working closely with housekeeping, front office, food and beverage, security and management teams.

Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hospitality, engineering, tourism, construction, BPO and healthcare opportunities, particularly in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan and other resort destinations. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Island living can provide beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed lifestyle, although transport, internet reliability and access to services vary by location. Major cities are busier and generally more expensive than provincial or resort areas. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa before starting employment; requirements can change, so confirm details with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and the employer. Relocating staff should budget for accommodation deposits, transport, health insurance and local documentation. Resort jobs may include staff housing or meals, but these benefits should be confirmed in the offer.
