The successful candidate should be service-oriented, commercially aware, adaptable and comfortable working to deadlines in a luxury resort environment.

About the employer

Shangri-La is an international luxury hospitality group known for refined service, distinctive destinations and warm Asian-inspired hospitality. The group operates luxury hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other global markets. In Mauritius, Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort & Spa is a landmark beachfront property on the island’s east coast, offering upscale accommodation, restaurants, spa facilities, leisure activities and extensive event services. The resort serves international leisure travellers, honeymooners, groups, meetings and corporate clients. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment where guest satisfaction, professionalism, teamwork and attention to detail are highly valued. Sales and marketing staff help position the resort, maintain relationships with travel and business partners, support revenue generation and promote the property’s experiences across local and international markets.

Working in Mauritius

Mauritius offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, finance, technology, construction and professional services, with resort employment particularly important in coastal areas. The culture blends Indian, African, European and Chinese influences, reflected in its languages, music, festivals and cuisine. Island life is generally relaxed, social and outdoors-focused, with beaches, lagoons, hiking, diving and water sports readily available. Living costs vary, and accommodation near major resorts or business centres can be expensive, so employer housing or relocation support is valuable. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate work permit or occupation permit before taking up employment; the employer commonly assists with the application. Candidates should confirm current immigration, health and document requirements with Mauritian authorities. English is widely used in business, while French and Mauritian Creole are common in daily life.
