About the employer

The group operates under the Shangri-La, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders brands, offering accommodation, dining, meetings, wellness and guest experiences. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on warm Asian hospitality, service quality, teamwork and employee development. Its Hong Kong properties serve business and leisure travellers and include large-scale hotel operations requiring dedicated housekeeping, laundry, food and beverage, engineering and guest-service teams. Employees can gain experience in an international luxury-hotel environment, with opportunities to work across departments and potentially progress within the wider group.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, logistics and tourism, especially for candidates with practical hospitality experience. Its culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in hotels and business settings. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, dense urban neighbourhoods, varied food and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and nearby islands. Housing can be expensive, so employer accommodation or a housing allowance is valuable. Overseas workers generally need an employment visa arranged with an approved job offer, while eligibility depends on qualifications, experience and the role. Employers typically assist with visa documentation. New arrivals should budget carefully, prepare identity and employment documents, and confirm accommodation, working hours, benefits and visa sponsorship before relocating.
