It operates hotels, resorts, residences, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other destinations. Shangri-La properties are known for personalized service, strong guest-relations standards, distinctive local experiences, and comprehensive facilities such as restaurants, spas, pools, and meeting spaces. In the Philippines, the group has operated prominent urban and resort properties, including locations in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Boracay. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with structured service standards, training opportunities, and established operational procedures. Benefits and employment conditions vary by property and contract, but may include meals, uniforms, healthcare, service charge, accommodation or relocation support, and staff-development programs.

Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities across Luzon, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and other resort destinations. Demand is strongest in hotels, resorts, restaurants, diving operations, events, and tourism services, with Manila and Cebu also providing corporate and management roles. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and community-minded, while English is widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed island communities, with warm weather, beaches, outdoor activities, and relatively affordable daily costs outside major cities. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa or immigration approval before starting employment; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine authorities is essential. Relocating employees should check housing, transport, healthcare, insurance, tax obligations, typhoon exposure, and access to international schools or airports. Local workers should verify salary, service charge, accommodation, and benefits in the written offer.
