United Overseas Bank (UOB) is a major Singapore-headquartered banking group with operations across Southeast Asia and selected markets in Asia-Pacific. Founded in 1935, the bank provides personal and commercial banking, wealth management, investment banking, treasury, transaction banking and insurance-related services. UOB serves individuals, businesses, institutions and multinational companies through branches, digital channels and regional subsidiaries. Singapore remains its main base and an important centre for group risk, compliance, technology and corporate functions. The bank has expanded its regional presence through a broad ASEAN network and has invested heavily in digital banking, customer experience and stronger financial crime controls. As a regulated international bank, UOB offers roles involving governance, risk oversight, regulatory compliance and cross-border collaboration.
Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state and a leading regional hub for banking, technology, logistics, healthcare and professional services. Job opportunities are particularly strong in financial services, compliance, risk, cybersecurity, data, engineering and digital products. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options range from efficient public transport and diverse food centres to shopping, parks, beaches and an active expatriate community. Employment Pass eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and the employer’s assessment; employers normally submit the application. New arrivals should budget carefully, as rent and private childcare can be expensive, while public transport is affordable. Relocation is straightforward, with extensive international flights, reliable healthcare and strong public infrastructure. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, compensation, housing costs and tax treatment before accepting an offer.
