Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state and a major regional hub for banking, technology, cybersecurity, logistics and professional services. Job opportunities are strongest in finance, digital transformation, cloud engineering, data, compliance and information security, particularly in the central business district and technology parks. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally professional, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options range from modern shopping districts and diverse food centres to parks, beaches and cultural neighbourhoods. Housing can be expensive, especially near the city centre, while public transport is reliable and convenient. Foreign professionals normally need an Employment Pass sponsored by an employer; approval depends on salary, qualifications and government assessment. Dependants may qualify for related passes. New arrivals should budget for rent, healthcare, transport and deposits, and check current immigration rules before relocating.
