The Relationship Manager will manage and grow a portfolio of medium-enterprise clients in Seremban, developing new business, understanding customers’ financing and banking needs, and recommending suitable credit, cash-management and investment solutions. The role typically requires a degree in banking, finance, business or a related discipline, together with several years of commercial or SME banking experience. Candidates should understand credit assessment, financial statements, risk controls and regulatory requirements. Strong sales, negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills are essential. UOB expects the successful candidate to achieve portfolio and revenue targets, maintain high service standards, identify cross-selling opportunities, monitor account quality and work closely with credit and operations teams.
United Overseas Bank (UOB) is a major Asian bank headquartered in Singapore, with operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, China and other international markets. Established in 1935, the bank provides personal and commercial banking, corporate finance, transaction banking, wealth management, treasury and investment services. UOB Malaysia serves individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies and institutions through branches and digital channels. The bank is known for its focus on relationship banking, responsible risk management and regional connectivity, helping businesses expand across ASEAN. Employees generally work in a structured, regulated environment with opportunities to develop banking, sales, credit and leadership expertise. Benefits and compensation vary by grade, experience and location, and may include medical coverage, leave, retirement contributions and performance-linked incentives.
Malaysia offers strong opportunities in banking, technology, shared services, manufacturing, tourism and logistics. Kuala Lumpur and Johor attract the largest concentration of professional roles, while Seremban provides a quieter, lower-cost lifestyle with access to the capital. Malaysian culture is multicultural, shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous communities, with festivals, diverse food and generally friendly social customs. Living costs are moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur housing is more expensive. Beaches and islands such as Langkawi, Penang and Tioman are popular for weekend travel. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass; the company must meet immigration and salary requirements, and dependants may require separate passes. Before relocating, arrange a valid work permit, accommodation, health insurance and tax registration. English is widely used in business, while Malay is the national language. Public transport is strongest in major cities, and a car is useful in smaller towns.
