The Credit Review Analyst will assess credit applications and existing portfolios for emerging-enterprise customers, ensuring decisions comply with UOB policies, regulatory standards and risk appetite. Requirements typically include a degree in finance, banking, accounting, economics or a related discipline, along with experience in credit analysis, commercial lending or risk review. Candidates should understand financial statements, cash-flow analysis, credit documentation and relevant Malaysian regulations. Strong analytical, report-writing and communication skills are expected, together with sound judgment, attention to detail and the ability to work with relationship managers and business units. AVP-level candidates are generally expected to work independently, identify emerging risks and provide constructive recommendations.
United Overseas Bank (UOB) is a major Singapore-based banking group with operations across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as selected global financial centres. Established in 1935, the group provides personal banking, business banking, commercial banking, corporate banking, wealth management and investment services. UOB Malaysia serves individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations and institutional clients through branches and digital channels. The bank is known for its regional network, relationship-led service and focus on supporting businesses operating across ASEAN. Its workforce includes professionals in credit, risk, operations, technology, sales, finance and customer service. The role in Puchong would support UOB’s credit risk and emerging-enterprise activities in Malaysia.
Malaysia offers strong opportunities in banking, financial services, technology, shared services, manufacturing, healthcare, tourism and logistics. Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, including Puchong, provide the broadest professional market, while Penang and Johor also have growing technology and industrial sectors. The culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in business. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur housing is more expensive. Malaysia has tropical weather, excellent food, modern shopping facilities and good regional air connections. Foreign professionals normally need employer sponsorship for an Employment Pass; the hiring company typically submits the application and supporting documents. Applicants should confirm current immigration rules, medical requirements and pass conditions before relocating. Public transport is strongest in major cities, while a car can be useful in suburban areas.
