About the employer

Metrobank, formally Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company, is one of the Philippines' leading universal banks. Established in 1962, it serves individual customers, businesses, institutions, and government-related organizations through a broad network of branches, ATMs, digital platforms, and specialized banking units. Its services include deposits, payments and remittances, loans, credit cards, treasury products, investment banking, wealth management, and corporate banking. Metrobank is part of the GT Capital Holdings group and has built a long-standing presence in the Philippine financial sector. The bank emphasizes responsible banking, customer service, operational reliability, digital transformation, and employee development. Its Taguig operations support important head-office and centralized functions, including transaction processing, technology, risk management, and customer-focused financial services.

Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers job opportunities in banking, business-process services, technology, retail, tourism, healthcare, education, and logistics. Metro Manila, particularly Makati, Taguig, and Quezon City, has the widest range of corporate and financial roles, while Cebu and Davao are major alternatives. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and community-minded. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living with heavy traffic to more relaxed coastal and provincial communities. Living costs are highest in Metro Manila, especially for rent and commuting. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate work visa or permit, usually sponsored or supported by their employer; requirements depend on nationality and employment terms. New arrivals should arrange secure accommodation, health insurance, banking access, and local transportation. The country offers attractive beaches, diverse islands, and strong regional food and cultural traditions, but newcomers should prepare for tropical weather, occasional typhoons, and seasonal flooding.
