About the employer

The St. Regis Langkawi is a luxury beachfront resort operated under the St. Regis Hotels & Resorts brand, part of Marriott International. Located in Langkawi, Malaysia, the resort is known for refined accommodation, personalised butler service, high-end dining, spa facilities and views of the Andaman Sea. St. Regis properties are recognised for elegant service, detailed guest experiences and distinctive traditions such as afternoon tea and evening champagne rituals. As part of Marriott International, the resort offers employees access to an internationally recognised hospitality network, structured training and potential career mobility across hotels worldwide. Working at the property generally involves serving international leisure travellers, maintaining luxury standards and collaborating with colleagues across multiple hotel departments.

Working in Malaysia

Langkawi is a popular Malaysian island destination known for beaches, mangroves, rainforests, duty-free shopping and a relaxed resort lifestyle. Tourism and hospitality provide many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, spas, tour companies, watersports, retail and guest services, with seasonal demand often increasing during holiday periods. Local culture combines Malay traditions with Chinese, Indian and international influences, and respectful dress and behaviour are appreciated outside resort areas. Life is quieter than in Kuala Lumpur, although transport is more limited and a car or motorbike is often useful. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored Malaysian work permit before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and role, so the employer should handle the application. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, medical checks and service-charge arrangements before relocating. Langkawi International Airport provides convenient access, while ferries connect the island with mainland Malaysia.
