Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and engineering. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally welcoming, with English widely used at work and in daily life. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, beaches and easy access to Sentosa’s attractions, although housing and dining can be expensive. For employment, most foreign professionals need an employer-sponsored work pass, commonly an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and Ministry of Manpower requirements. Employers usually assist with applications, but candidates should confirm pass type, medical requirements and relocation support before accepting an offer. Singapore has a warm, humid climate throughout the year, so breathable clothing and reliable air-conditioning are useful. Sentosa offers a resort-style setting, while mainland neighborhoods provide more varied housing and commuting options.
