Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf country rather than a single island, although Dubai includes Palm Jumeirah and other coastal islands. It offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail, events, finance, technology, and construction. Dubai's culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress, courtesy, and respect for Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle is convenient and highly urban, with beaches, shopping malls, desert activities, dining, and strong public transport, though summer temperatures are extremely high. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, and working before approval is not permitted. Employers may assist with medical tests, Emirates ID, accommodation, transport, and flights, depending on the contract. Interns should confirm stipend, housing, meals, insurance, visa sponsorship, working hours, and any placement fees before relocating. Living costs, especially rent, can be substantial in Dubai.
