Experience in a luxury hotel, high-volume venue or cocktail-focused operation is advantageous.
Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park is a premium hotel located opposite Sydney's Hyde Park, close to the city's major business, shopping and cultural attractions. It offers accommodation, restaurants, bars, meeting facilities, events and wellness services for business and leisure guests. The hotel operates under the Sheraton brand, part of Marriott International, one of the world's largest hospitality companies. Marriott manages and franchises a broad portfolio of hotels across numerous global markets, with a strong focus on guest service, operational standards, career development and inclusive workplaces. Employees may benefit from structured training, international mobility opportunities and hotel industry benefits, subject to local employment conditions and eligibility. In this role, the Assistant Bar Manager would contribute to the hotel's food and beverage operation while supporting a high-quality guest experience.
Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, restaurants, bars, resorts, events and tourism, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast and regional destinations. The culture is generally informal, diverse and multicultural, with strong workplace expectations around safety, fairness and responsible alcohol service. Sydney provides an active urban lifestyle, beaches, public transport, dining and cultural events, although housing and living costs can be high. Common visa options include employer-sponsored visas, the Working Holiday Maker program for eligible nationalities, skilled visas and student visas with work rights. Visa conditions vary, and sponsorship is not guaranteed, so applicants should check current requirements through the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Relocating usually requires proof of identity, accommodation planning, tax and banking arrangements, health insurance where applicable, and an Australian RSA certificate before working in licensed bars.
