About the employer

TA'AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo is a high-end Marriott-affiliated resort planned for Labuan Bajo, Flores, one of Indonesia's most distinctive emerging luxury destinations. The Luxury Collection brand focuses on refined hospitality, local heritage, personalized service, and authentic destination experiences. The resort is positioned to welcome leisure travelers, affluent guests, groups, and international visitors exploring Komodo National Park and the surrounding islands. Its operations typically include accommodation, food and beverage, spa and wellness, events, guest activities, engineering, finance, human resources, and legal or compliance functions. As part of Marriott International's global network, the property is expected to follow international operating standards while highlighting the culture, cuisine, crafts, and natural environment of East Nusa Tenggara. Employees can gain experience in a new luxury resort environment with strong exposure to Indonesian hospitality and international hotel practices.

Working in Indonesia

Indonesia offers varied opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, education, technology, finance, and growing resort developments. For this role, Labuan Bajo on Flores provides a quieter lifestyle than Jakarta or Bali, with access to beaches, diving, boating, and Komodo National Park. Local culture is strongly influenced by Manggarai traditions, Catholic heritage, close community ties, and respect for customary ceremonies. Living costs are generally moderate, though imported goods and housing in popular resort areas can be expensive. New arrivals should expect a warm climate, developing infrastructure, limited specialist services, and seasonal tourism demand. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work authorization, commonly a work permit and limited-stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocation packages may include accommodation, flights, health insurance, or transport, but these must be confirmed in the employment contract. Learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly recommended.
