Candidates should have extensive experience as an Executive Chef or senior culinary leader in a luxury hotel or resort, preferably with international and island-property experience. Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, menu development, cost control, purchasing and kitchen budgeting is expected. The role requires proven leadership, staff training, creativity, consistency and the ability to maintain high luxury-brand standards in a multicultural environment. The successful candidate will manage culinary teams, coordinate with hotel departments, control food quality and labor costs, and create memorable dining experiences for guests while supporting Marriott and St. Regis service expectations.
The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is a luxury island resort operated under The St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International. Located on a private island in the Dhaalu Atoll, the resort is known for refined hospitality, personalized butler service, elegant villas, destination dining and strong wellness and leisure facilities. Marriott International is one of the world’s largest hotel companies, with a broad portfolio of internationally recognized brands and extensive career opportunities across hospitality, food and beverage, rooms, engineering and corporate functions. Working at The St. Regis Maldives typically involves serving a highly international clientele while maintaining detailed luxury-service standards. Resort employees may receive benefits such as staff accommodation, meals, transportation, medical coverage, service charge and travel allowances, depending on the employment contract and local policy.
The Maldives offers employment opportunities mainly in luxury resorts, hotels, restaurants, diving, watersports, marine conservation, wellness, engineering and guest services. Resort islands provide a structured lifestyle with staff housing, meals, recreational facilities and a multicultural workforce, although work can be demanding and remote from local towns. Maldivian culture is shaped by Islam, island traditions, seafood, music and strong community values; modest dress and respectful behavior are important outside resort areas. The climate is tropical, with warm weather year-round and wetter monsoon periods. Foreign employees generally require an employer-sponsored employment approval and work visa, with medical checks and document verification arranged through the employer. Candidates should confirm contract terms, service charge, flights, accommodation, insurance, leave and internet access before relocating. International airport transfers to resort islands are commonly provided by seaplane or domestic flight and speedboat.
