The Resort Manager leads daily resort operations, guest experience, service standards, financial performance, and team engagement across rooms, food and beverage, recreation, engineering, and support departments. Candidates are expected to have substantial experience in luxury hospitality, preferably in a resort or island environment, with strong commercial, operational, budgeting, and people-management skills. Excellent English communication, sound judgment, cultural awareness, and the ability to remain visible and effective in a remote setting are important. Marriott or Ritz-Carlton experience is advantageous. The successful candidate should model luxury service standards, develop leaders, resolve guest concerns professionally, and work closely with the General Manager and corporate teams to achieve business and brand objectives.

About the employer

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands is a luxury island resort operated by Marriott International, one of the world's largest hospitality companies. Located in the North Malé Atoll, the resort combines private villas, high-end dining, wellness, water activities, and highly personalized service in a contemporary Maldivian setting. The Ritz-Carlton brand is known for refined guest experiences, strong service rituals, and its commitment to genuine care. The property works with an international team and serves affluent leisure travelers, couples, families, and private groups. As part of Marriott, employees may benefit from global training, internal mobility, recognized service standards, and associate travel programs, subject to eligibility. Resort roles generally include staff accommodation, meals, transport, and other benefits because the property is located on a remote private island.

Working in Maldives

The Maldives offers employment mainly in luxury resorts, hospitality, marine activities, aviation, construction, retail, healthcare, and education. Resort islands provide a highly international lifestyle, with organized staff housing, meals, recreation, and transport, although work can be demanding and the remote setting may feel isolated. Local culture is predominantly Muslim, so modest dress away from resort areas, respect for prayer times, and responsible alcohol use are important. Malé and local inhabited islands offer a more authentic community experience, markets, cafés, and ferry connections, while resort islands are usually separate and reached by speedboat or seaplane. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an entry arrangement issued through the employer; requirements can include passport, medical checks, qualifications, and police clearance. Confirm current rules with the employer or Maldives immigration before travel. Relocation packages commonly cover flights, accommodation, meals, insurance, and airport transfers, but contract details vary.
