Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers strong opportunities in IT consulting, software development, QA and testing, business process services, finance, healthcare, tourism, and digital operations. Metro Manila, particularly Taguig and Makati, is the main corporate hub, while Cebu and Davao also have growing technology and service sectors. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, community-minded, and comfortable with English, which supports international workplaces. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living and extensive shopping and dining to relaxed coastal communities and affordable domestic travel. Housing, transport, and healthcare costs vary, with Manila generally more expensive and traffic-heavy. Foreign employees normally need an appropriate work visa or permit sponsored by an employer; visitors cannot legally work. Relocating professionals should confirm immigration requirements, tax obligations, health insurance, housing, and dependent arrangements before arrival. Local professionals generally need valid employment documentation and standard onboarding requirements.
