Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, and events. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international population; respectful dress, punctuality, religious awareness, and courteous behaviour are important. Dubai provides modern infrastructure, beaches, shopping, entertainment, public transport, and a warm desert climate, although summers are extremely hot. Hospitality employees often receive accommodation, transport, meals, medical cover, and annual leave benefits, depending on the employer. Foreign workers normally require an employer-sponsored employment visa, which includes work authorization, medical testing, Emirates ID registration, and residency processing. Do not work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm the written contract, salary, service charge, accommodation, working hours, probation terms, and who pays recruitment and visa costs. Budget for deposits and personal expenses, and verify all offers through official Marriott or UAE employment channels.
