The GDS Tax ACR Statutory Report Staff 1 supports EY clients with accounting, tax, and statutory reporting activities. Typical requirements include a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; and basic knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and financial systems is useful, while CPA eligibility or relevant internship experience may be advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to prepare and review reports, maintain accurate working papers, meet deadlines, follow established procedures, protect confidential information, and work effectively with local and international teams. This is an entry-level role suited to someone willing to learn EY methodologies and develop a career in tax and accounting services.
EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is a global professional services organization providing assurance, tax, consulting, and strategy and transactions services. Its clients include multinational companies, public-sector organizations, and growing businesses across many industries. EY Global Delivery Services centers support international member firms by providing specialized capabilities in areas such as tax, accounting, analytics, technology, and business operations. EY Philippines has offices and delivery teams serving both domestic and overseas clients, with a strong emphasis on professional development, teamwork, quality, and ethical conduct. The organization offers structured training, exposure to global engagements, and opportunities to work with colleagues from different countries. The GDS Tax ACR team helps deliver accounting compliance, tax support, and statutory reporting services, making the Staff 1 position a practical starting point for graduates pursuing accounting, tax, or broader professional-services careers.
The Philippines offers employment opportunities in shared services, accounting, finance, IT, customer support, engineering, healthcare, tourism, and business-process operations. Metro Manila, particularly Taguig and Makati, has the largest concentration of multinational employers and professional-services jobs. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-speaking, and relationship-focused, with strong traditions around food, festivals, and community. Urban life can be energetic and affordable compared with many international cities, although traffic, humidity, and rainy-season disruptions are common. Cebu and Davao provide more relaxed alternatives with growing business sectors and access to beaches and nature. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, while short visits may be covered by visa-free arrangements depending on nationality. Relocating workers should arrange employment documentation, health insurance, housing, banking, and tax registration before arrival. Researching neighborhoods near the workplace is advisable because commuting times can be substantial.
