About the employer

EY is a global professional-services organisation providing assurance, consulting, strategy, tax and transactions services to businesses, governments and investors. Its technology consulting practice helps organisations modernise operating models, implement enterprise platforms and improve digital customer and employee experiences. EY works with clients across sectors including financial services, healthcare, government, consumer products and technology. In Ireland, the firm has a significant presence in Dublin and other locations, employing professionals across audit, tax, consulting, corporate finance and support functions. The company invests heavily in cloud technology, data, cybersecurity, transformation and enterprise applications such as Oracle and SAP. EY’s culture typically emphasises collaboration, client service, continuous learning, inclusion and professional development. Employees may have opportunities to work on international projects, gain industry certifications and progress through structured career levels.

Working in Ireland

Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology consulting, software, financial services, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cybersecurity and shared-service operations, especially in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. The culture is generally friendly, sociable and informal, with a strong tradition of conversation, music and community life. Dublin provides the broadest job market but has high rents; Cork and Galway can offer a slower pace and attractive alternatives. Public transport is improving, although owning a car is useful outside major cities. Non-EEA nationals usually need an employment permit, and highly skilled technology roles may qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit. Applicants should confirm eligibility, sponsorship and salary requirements before accepting an offer. Relocating commonly involves arranging accommodation, a tax number, bank account, healthcare cover and proof of address. Ireland’s climate is mild but often wet and changeable, while annual leave and employee protections are generally strong.
