Working in Ireland

Ireland offers strong opportunities in consulting, technology, pharmaceuticals, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics and shared-service operations. Dublin is the main employment hub, while Cork, Galway, Limerick and Belfast also provide growing professional opportunities. Irish workplace culture is generally collaborative, informal and relationship-oriented, with good value placed on communication and work-life balance. Lifestyle highlights include welcoming communities, a lively arts and music scene, historic towns, coastal scenery and easy access to outdoor activities. Housing, particularly in Dublin, can be expensive and competitive, so securing accommodation requires planning. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without an employment visa. Non-EEA applicants generally need an employment permit, such as a Critical Skills or General Employment Permit, and may need an entry visa and registration after arrival. Review current Irish immigration requirements before relocating.
