About the employer

EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is one of the world’s largest professional services organizations and a member of the Big Four. It provides assurance, consulting, strategy and transactions, tax, and related advisory services to businesses, governments and individuals. EY operates through an international network of member firms, allowing it to support clients with cross-border projects, regulatory matters, digital transformation and business growth. In Cyprus, EY serves local and international companies across sectors including financial services, shipping, technology, real estate and consumer products. The firm places strong emphasis on professional development, technical learning, collaboration, ethics and diversity. Employees commonly gain exposure to international clients, structured career pathways and professional qualification support, although the work can involve demanding deadlines and busy periods.

Working in Cyprus

Cyprus offers opportunities in international tax, accounting, audit, banking, fintech, shipping, technology, tourism and shared business services, particularly in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca. The culture combines Greek and Mediterranean traditions with a strongly international business environment, and English is widely used in professional settings. Lifestyle benefits include mild winters, long summers, beaches, mountain villages and a relaxed social atmosphere, though housing in Limassol can be expensive. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens generally have simpler residence and work procedures. Non-EU nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and residence authorization, with eligibility depending on the role and immigration rules. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, health coverage, tax registration and local banking. Cyprus uses the euro, and public transport is improving but a car is often useful outside major urban areas.
