This role supports EY’s insurance and actuarial consulting practice, focusing on non-life insurance projects such as reserving, pricing, capital modelling, solvency, financial reporting, risk management and actuarial reviews. Candidates typically need a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or a related discipline, together with relevant non-life actuarial experience. Progress toward or completion of professional actuarial qualifications is strongly preferred. The Senior Consultant/Manager is expected to manage project workstreams, analyse complex data, prepare clear client deliverables, supervise junior colleagues and communicate effectively with insurers and senior stakeholders. Strong Excel, analytical, presentation and report-writing skills are important, as is commercial awareness and the ability to work in a changing, multinational consulting environment.
EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is a global professional services organisation providing assurance, consulting, strategy and transactions, and tax services. It operates through a worldwide network of member firms and serves clients across financial services, technology, government, consumer products and other industries. EY’s Cyprus practice advises local and international businesses on audit, tax, risk, transactions, digital transformation and business consulting. Its actuarial teams work mainly with insurers and financial institutions, helping them assess risk, meet regulatory requirements, improve reporting and make better commercial decisions. The firm offers exposure to international projects, structured professional development and opportunities to work with multidisciplinary teams. As with other major professional-services firms, the role can involve demanding deadlines, client travel or meetings, and periods of increased workload during reporting and regulatory cycles.
Cyprus offers employment opportunities in financial services, audit, consulting, shipping, technology, tourism, education and renewable energy. Nicosia is the main professional and government centre, while Limassol has a strong international business and shipping community; Larnaca and Paphos are popular coastal locations. The culture combines Greek and Mediterranean traditions, with English widely used in business. The lifestyle includes mild winters, long sunny summers, beaches, outdoor activities and generally relaxed social life, although housing costs have increased in major cities. EU and EEA citizens can live and work in Cyprus with relatively simple registration requirements. Non-EU nationals normally need an employer-supported work and residence permit before starting employment, subject to eligibility and labour-market rules. Cyprus is an EU member but is not currently part of the Schengen Area, so separate entry requirements may apply. Relocating employees should arrange accommodation, tax registration, healthcare access and banking.
