The Network Planner role supports the design, analysis and continuous improvement of DHL’s transport and distribution network. Typical requirements include experience in logistics, transport planning, supply-chain analysis or a related field; strong numerical and problem-solving skills; confidence using Excel and planning or data-analysis systems; and the ability to interpret operational data. Knowledge of routing, capacity planning, service performance and cost control is valuable. DHL expects candidates to work accurately, communicate clearly with operational and commercial teams, manage competing priorities and recommend practical improvements. Experience with network-modelling tools, forecasting, reporting or project work may be advantageous. The role generally requires a customer-focused, collaborative approach and willingness to adapt in a fast-moving logistics environment.
DHL is a global logistics and supply-chain company operating across more than 220 countries and territories. It is part of DHL Group and provides express delivery, international freight forwarding, road and air transport, contract logistics, warehousing, e-commerce fulfilment and supply-chain management services. DHL works with businesses ranging from small enterprises to multinational organisations, helping them move goods and manage complex international networks. The company is known for its large transport infrastructure, operational scale and focus on service reliability, technology and sustainability. In the United Kingdom, DHL employs people across courier and parcel operations, warehouses, transport hubs, aviation, customer service, technology, engineering, sales and corporate functions. Network planning roles contribute to efficient capacity use, route design, cost management and dependable delivery performance.
The United Kingdom offers varied opportunities in logistics, transport, data analysis, warehousing, technology, finance and professional services, with strong employment markets around London, the Midlands, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and major ports and airports. British workplace culture generally values punctuality, professionalism, clear communication and respect for personal boundaries. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to quieter coastal and rural communities, with excellent public transport in many urban areas but higher housing costs in London and the South East. Skilled overseas applicants usually need an appropriate visa, commonly employer sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route, and must meet salary, English-language and eligibility requirements. Check current rules on the official UK Government website. Relocation planning should include accommodation, tax, National Insurance, healthcare access, commuting costs and right-to-work documentation. The UK’s climate is changeable, and regional accents and local customs can differ considerably.
