Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in technology, e-commerce, finance, manufacturing, tourism, education, and international business, particularly in Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, and Fukuoka. Workplace culture values reliability, preparation, teamwork, and respectful communication, although international companies may offer more flexible and English-friendly environments. Daily life is generally safe, convenient, and supported by excellent public transport, but housing and living costs are high in central Tokyo. Japan has four main islands—Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku—plus many smaller islands, each with distinct scenery, food, and lifestyles. Foreign employees normally need an appropriate work visa, commonly an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa, sponsored by the employer. Applicants should prepare educational and employment documents, arrange accommodation, and register their address after arrival. Learning basic Japanese makes administration and daily interactions much easier.
