Destination Guide

Qatar is a compact peninsula rather than an island, although it includes resort islands and coastal destinations such as The Pearl and Qetaifan Island North. Job opportunities are strongest in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare, finance and events, particularly in Doha and Lusail. The culture is welcoming and modern while remaining rooted in Islamic traditions; modest dress and respectful behaviour are expected in public places. Lifestyle options include beaches, malls, restaurants, desert trips, museums and international entertainment. Employers usually arrange a work visa and residence permit after hiring, with medical checks and document attestation commonly required. Confirm whether accommodation, transport, flights and health insurance are included in the offer. New arrivals should budget for deposits, mobile service and daily transport. Qatar is generally safe, but summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned transport are important.
