Destination Guide

Bahrain is a compact Gulf island nation with good opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, catering, retail, finance, construction and tourism. Manama is the main commercial centre, while resort areas provide hospitality roles for international workers. The culture blends Arab traditions with a diverse expatriate community; modest dress, respect for Islamic customs and courteous behaviour are appreciated. Lifestyle options include beaches, malls, cafés, museums, water activities and historic sites, although summers are extremely hot. Employers normally sponsor work visas and residence permits for overseas hires, subject to medical checks and government approval. Candidates should confirm whether accommodation, meals, transport, insurance and annual flights are included. Relocation is generally straightforward when arranged by the employer, but workers should budget for personal expenses and verify contract terms, working hours, probation, leave and end-of-service benefits before travelling.
