Destination Guide

Thailand offers strong hospitality opportunities, especially in Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and the eastern islands. Resorts, restaurants, bars, diving centres, wellness businesses, and tour companies regularly recruit experienced international and local staff. Island life is relaxed and sociable, with tropical beaches, outdoor activities, markets, temples, and a rich food culture. Living costs vary: Phuket and Koh Samui are generally more expensive than smaller islands, while staff accommodation and meals can significantly reduce expenses. Foreign nationals normally need a job offer and employer-supported Non-Immigrant B visa, followed by a work permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with documentation, but requirements should be confirmed with Thai authorities. Prepare for hot, humid weather, seasonal rain, motorbike-focused transport, and a slower pace of life. Learning basic Thai is highly beneficial for daily life and workplace relationships.
