Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest hospitality and tourism opportunities. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, airlines, retail, events, and entertainment venues regularly recruit international workers. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Arab hospitality, and a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respectful behavior are expected in public and at work. Dubai offers modern apartments, extensive shopping, beaches, public transport, and an active expatriate community, though rent and summer heat can be significant considerations. Employers normally arrange an employment visa and work permit after hiring, with medical checks and Emirates ID registration required. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, leave, gratuity, probation, and airfare in writing. Relocating employees should budget for deposits and initial costs and use only official employment channels.
