Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers strong opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail and facilities management. Ras Al Khaimah is known for beaches, desert landscapes and mountain activities, with a generally quieter lifestyle than Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The culture is multicultural and welcoming, though visitors and residents should respect Islamic customs, local dress expectations and laws concerning alcohol and public behaviour. Hospitality work commonly includes accommodation, meals, transport, health insurance and annual leave, depending on the employer. Most overseas employees require an employment visa sponsored by the company; the employer normally arranges entry approval, medical checks, Emirates ID and residency processing. Bring verified qualifications, passport copies and employment documents. Costs vary, but employer-provided housing can significantly reduce expenses. Summers are extremely hot, while winter offers comfortable outdoor conditions.
