Destination Guide

Thailand offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness, tourism, marine activities, retail, and professional services. Bangkok is the main business hub and is not an island, while Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and nearby islands provide strong seasonal and year-round hospitality employment. Thai culture values respect, politeness, hierarchy, and maintaining good relationships; learning basic Thai is helpful. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living in Bangkok to relaxed beach communities, with generally affordable food and transport, although central accommodation can be costly. Foreign employees normally need a sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit before starting employment; requirements depend on nationality and position. Employers commonly assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm medical checks, qualifications, taxes, accommodation, insurance, and relocation benefits. Thailand's hot, humid climate and rainy season should also be considered.
