Destination Guide

New Zealand consists mainly of the North and South Islands, with Auckland on the North Island and connected to the rest of the country by domestic flights and ferries. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, healthcare, construction, technology, agriculture and education provide regular employment opportunities. New Zealand workplaces are generally informal, team-oriented and respectful of work-life balance; Māori culture and values are an important part of national identity. Auckland offers beaches, restaurants, multicultural communities and outdoor activities, although housing and transport can be expensive. Eligible overseas applicants may use an Accredited Employer Work Visa when sponsored by an approved employer, while working-holiday and skilled-residence pathways may suit others. Applicants should check Immigration New Zealand for current rules, prepare proof of qualifications and funds, and budget for accommodation, healthcare, transport and initial relocation costs.
