Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, catering, tourism and events, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, the Gold Coast and regional destinations. Hospitality work can provide pathways from commis or demi chef roles into chef de partie and supervisory positions. Australian workplace culture generally values punctuality, direct communication, teamwork, safety and respect for diversity. Sydney offers beaches, outdoor activities, multicultural dining and a busy city lifestyle, though rent and transport costs can be high. Visa options may include Working Holiday visas, employer-sponsored visas, student visas with work rights and skilled migration pathways, depending on nationality, occupation and eligibility. Before relocating, check official Department of Home Affairs requirements, secure appropriate health insurance, prepare proof of qualifications and budget for accommodation, transport and initial living costs. RSA certification may be useful for hospitality roles involving alcohol.
