Fairmont is known for combining distinctive local character with refined service, high operating standards and a strong focus on guest and colleague experience. The People & Culture team plays an important role in attracting, developing and retaining colleagues while supporting service quality, operational performance, inclusion and compliance across the property.
The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf federation rather than an island, with Dubai offering particularly strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology and events. The culture blends Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a large international population, so respectful dress and behaviour are important, especially during Ramadan. Dubai’s lifestyle includes beaches, shopping, dining, entertainment and excellent transport, although summer heat and living costs can be significant. Most overseas employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; the employer normally arranges the work permit, medical checks and Emirates ID process. Candidates should confirm whether accommodation, transport, health insurance, flights and schooling support are included. Before relocating, check contract terms, probation rules, working hours, annual leave and recognition of qualifications. English is widely used in workplaces, while Arabic is the official language.
