The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Dubai offers a coastal, cosmopolitan lifestyle with beaches, shopping, dining, entertainment, and desert activities. Hospitality is a major employer, with opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, aviation, retail, and tourism. The culture is multicultural and generally welcoming, while local customs and Islamic traditions should be respected, particularly regarding dress, public behavior, and religious occasions. Dubai is modern and convenient, though accommodation, transport, and leisure costs can be high. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, arrange medical checks, and provide Emirates ID processing; many hotel packages include accommodation, meals, transport, medical insurance, and annual air tickets.
