Destination Guide

Saadiyat Island is a modern beach and cultural destination in Abu Dhabi, close to the city centre and approximately 25 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport. Employment opportunities are strongest in hospitality, tourism, restaurants, retail, transport, events, culture, security and facilities management. The lifestyle is safe, clean and international, with beaches, museums, resorts, malls and outdoor activities nearby. UAE culture blends Emirati traditions with a large expatriate community; respectful dress, public behaviour and local customs are important, especially during Ramadan. Employers normally sponsor a work visa, residence permit and medical checks after an offer is accepted. Confirm that the contract states salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, leave and probation terms. New arrivals should budget for deposits and personal expenses, although many resorts provide staff housing and transport. Abu Dhabi is hot for much of the year, so air-conditioned accommodation and transport are valuable.
