Job Description

The Reception Supervisor supports the Front Office Manager in delivering a welcoming, efficient guest experience. Responsibilities typically include supervising reception colleagues, coordinating arrivals and departures, handling guest requests and complaints, managing cash and billing procedures, maintaining accurate reservations and records, and supporting upselling. Candidates should have previous hotel front-office experience, ideally in a supervisory or senior receptionist position, with strong knowledge of hospitality operations and booking systems. Fluency in English and Spanish is generally expected; additional languages are an advantage. The role requires excellent communication, leadership, organisation, problem-solving skills, a professional appearance, and flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. A genuine interest in The Hoxton's distinctive, social hospitality style is also important.

Company Info

The Hoxton is a lifestyle hotel brand operated by Ennismore, part of Accor. It combines hotel accommodation with lively public spaces, including restaurants, bars, cafés, co-working areas, and event venues. Each property is designed to reflect the character of its neighbourhood, offering an informal, creative atmosphere rather than a traditional luxury-hotel experience. The Hoxton Poblenou is located in Barcelona's Poblenou district and features guest rooms, food and beverage outlets, meeting spaces, and a rooftop environment. The brand places strong emphasis on genuine service, local connection, inclusivity, design, and community-focused programming. Employees generally work in a collaborative setting where personality, initiative, teamwork, and a relaxed but professional approach to guests are valued.

Destination Guide

Spain's main island destinations are the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, and Formentera, and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. Hospitality offers regular opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events, and guest services, particularly during the summer in the Balearics and throughout the year in the Canaries. Island life is generally relaxed and outdoor-focused, with beaches, water sports, local festivals, and strong regional food traditions. Living costs and rents can be high in popular resort areas, while transport and services vary between islands. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work without a visa but must register locally. Non-EU applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment. Spanish is useful, and English plus other European languages are highly valued.
