Destination Guide

Australia is a large island country with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, healthcare, construction, agriculture, education and technology. The Gold Coast is especially popular for hotel, restaurant, cleaning, resort and entertainment jobs, with a relaxed beach lifestyle, warm weather and an international community. Australian workplace culture generally values punctuality, safety, fairness, direct communication and a practical attitude. Living costs, particularly rent, can be high in coastal cities, so shared accommodation and careful budgeting are common for new arrivals. Work rights depend on nationality and visa type; options may include Working Holiday, employer-sponsored, student and skilled visas. Applicants should check official Department of Home Affairs requirements, obtain a tax file number and arrange appropriate health insurance. Public transport is available, while a driver’s licence can be useful for regional work. Surfers Paradise offers beaches and nightlife, but quieter nearby suburbs may provide better value.
