Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, the Riau Islands, and other tourist destinations, with particularly strong demand in hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, and wellness services. Jakarta provides corporate and luxury-hotel careers, while Bali and Lombok offer more resort-focused lifestyles. Indonesian culture emphasizes respect, community, modesty, and warm personal interaction; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is valuable. Living costs vary considerably, with Jakarta and popular Bali areas generally more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate limited-stay work visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with sponsorship, documentation, and relocation details, but requirements can change. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules with the Indonesian embassy and negotiate accommodation, insurance, flights, tax, and service-charge arrangements before accepting an offer.
