Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than one island; Abu Dhabi is the capital, and Saadiyat Island is a coastal cultural and resort district nearby. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare, technology and finance offer strong employment opportunities, especially in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The culture blends Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international population. Dress should be modest in public and local customs respected, particularly during Ramadan. Lifestyle ranges from beaches, museums and desert activities to malls, restaurants and global entertainment. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical test and Emirates ID after hiring; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Confirm sponsorship, accommodation, transport, insurance, probation and end-of-service terms before relocating. The UAE has no personal income tax, but living costs can be high, especially for private housing.
