Destination Guide

Ireland offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, bars, tourism, technology, healthcare, construction and customer service, with Dublin providing the largest urban job market. Irish culture is friendly and social, with strong traditions around music, sport, conversation and community. Dublin has excellent pubs, museums, parks and transport links, although rents and housing competition are high. Outside the capital, cities such as Cork, Galway and Limerick may offer a slower pace and lower living costs. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can generally live and work without a visa. Non-EEA applicants usually need an employment permit and, depending on nationality and stay length, an entry visa. Seasonal workers should confirm sponsorship, contract length, accommodation and healthcare arrangements before travelling. Bring proof of qualifications, references and sufficient funds for initial housing and expenses. Ireland has a changeable climate, so waterproof clothing is useful.
